Reconstruction of Shop Window Lighting at TsDM on Lubyanka

At the Central Children’s Store on Lubyanka, Lichtschneider specialists carried out a reconstruction of the window display lighting: they developed a lighting design solution, supplied equipment, and performed installation work.

Window display lighting is a specialized narrow task in retail design. The quality of light here directly affects how products are perceived, how accurately colors are rendered, and how effectively the display can attract a visitor’s attention and hold their gaze. Window display lighting parameters—color temperature, color rendering index, directionality and intensity of light flow—are selected taking into account the nature of the exhibition and the characteristics of the retail space where the displays are located.

Lighting reconstruction involves working in an operational facility: the solution must consider existing structures, engineering systems, and the store’s operating schedule. This places additional requirements on the design solution and installation organization. The complete cycle of work—from developing the technical solution to its implementation on site—allowed us to maintain a unified approach and ensure the result matched the original objective.

Such focused projects provide an opportunity to work concentratedly on a specific lighting task without diluting it in a broader context.
