As part of the lighting project for the “June” shopping center, lighting design and equipment supply work was carried out. The project was implemented in 2012. Stefan Schneider participated in the work as a key client development manager and lighting designer as part of Tochka Opory Promelectrosvet CJSC.

Shopping center lighting is a task where light simultaneously serves functionality, safety, and atmosphere. Each public space — entrance areas, galleries, atriums, food courts — has its own set of lighting challenges, which must be coordinated within a unified system. The quality of design determines how comfortably and predictably this space will function after opening.

Lighting design for such facilities includes calculating illumination levels, selecting equipment with the necessary characteristics, developing layout and connection schemes, and preparing specifications. Equipment supply is carried out in accordance with the project, ensuring that the implemented solution meets technical parameters.

Working on such a project as part of a specialized lighting company provided the opportunity to go through the entire cycle — from discussing requirements with the client to completing delivery. This experience today forms the foundation of Lichtschneider’s approach to shopping center projects.
